SyncSet™

The SyncSet™ is one of the keys to how FAST DCMS™ and FAST Bid™ operate. Unlike a simple web based file repository or FTP site, the SyncSet maintains all of the information relating the documents in a construction documentation set - it understands the relationships between floors, and that multiple trade drawings exist for the same floor space. In addition, the SyncSet captures all markups and annotations made by anyone on the project.

All of this information is captured and kept consistent through the SyncSet (which may be thought of as a central repository). SyncSet is responsible for ensuring that all FAST DCMS users have consistent copies of the project whether they are on or offline. SyncSet properly routes all markups, annotations, as-builts and RFIs to users, while records are made available to everyone on the project.

At the beginning of a project, the Project Manager is responsible for determining which documents will be available to DCMS users and installs them to the SyncSet server with the assistance of a FASTTAC Project Administrator.

During the construction of a project, the SyncSet is used to ensure everyone is working from the latest drawings, markups and RFIs. Updates and notes anywhere in the system become available to everyone at the same time.

DCMS may be used during a project to capture all as-builts as they happen directly into the SyncSet. Later, during the buildings FM stage, the SyncSet is used to track all issues, changes and renovations associated with the facility creating a continual record.
