Patent Drives Unparalleled Ease of Use in Presenting Complex Drawings and Documents

PITTSBURGH, April 28, 2010 — FASTTAC ®, an industry leader in simplifying the complexities of construction drawing distribution, control and collaboration, today announced it has been awarded patent 7,698,647 from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.  This patent covers FASTTAC’s advanced method for presenting, sharing and updating complex construction drawings on any type of computing device. This technology innovation extends FASTTAC’s existing strength in accurately portraying and presenting complex construction drawings and documents in a way that even the most technology challenged can quickly understand and react to any project changes and updates.

The patent announcement follows a series of product awards for FASTTAC over the past 6 months, and is yet another indicator of the company’s leadership position in driving digital drawing and document distribution innovation.  Earlier this year it was announced that FASTTAC received both the prestigious Construction Executive Magazine’s 2010 Hot Product Technology Sector award, as well as Constructech Magazine’s Top Product of 2010 award.

“We are very pleased by this recognition from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office for the design of our unique digital drawing distribution system,” stated Ray Steeb, CEO of FASTTAC.  Steeb continues “FASTTAC has invested a great deal of time and effort in building our products with the focus on making them as easy to use and intuitive as possible. This award combined with other honours from distinguished organizations, represents the continued recognition of our efforts to help our customers reduce cost and project risks.”

With FASTTAC’s patented technology, all project team members’ instantly benefit from the automated distribution of digital drawings and documents which was historically distributed on an as needed basis by the construction manager. FASTTAC users obtain a complete set of contract documents and ongoing updates by simply clicking one button that automatically places updated drawings and documents exactly where the user found the previous version on the user’s PC. These capabilities enable FASTTAC to go far beyond other simple electronic access methods for construction drawings and documents such as shared drives, FTP sites and Plan Rooms. The ease-of-use and speed with which FASTTAC users can access and navigate between drawings quickly results in FASTTAC becoming the “go-to” location for contract documents used on construction projects greatly reducing printing and distribution costs.
